D-Wave Two.1

by Delta Funktionen

Delta Funktionen is proud to announce the start of his own new label Radio Matrix. Kicking off the new imprint is an EP from the Dutch techno producer himself. In the future, the label will focus primarily on the man’s own material as well as close friends, some of which have never released music before. Aiming to represent the sound of his locale, the style will shift from techno to electro to house just like Delta’s own sets, and this first EP gets him going with plenty of élan.

Up first is ‘RM’, a drilling, electro tinged techno cut with crisp snares, deep and mysterious synth lines and tight drums that drive you along a bumpy groove. Next up is the robotic sounding ‘Droids’, with a fat bassline, hurried percussion and classic cowbells as well as tons of drum fills and metallic hits that will do great things to dancefloors and dancers.

‘Untitled Yet’ is then a much slower, murkier, deconstructed track with cowbells pricking out of a soupy, dirty brew of crushed drums and slow, purposeful snares. Like a factory in meltdown, it’s full of weird life forms and eventually makes way for ‘Reality Is Here’, with its filtered vocals, weird melodic hooks, alien details and truly inventive synth lines all whipping about in controlled frenzy. Electric sounding future music with real personality, this is Delta at his best!
